Eco-Friendly Supplies

When I want to create something from scratch and not upcycle from existing resources, I always look for supplies that are eco-friendly and sustainable. For example, I’ll buy organic and bamboo yarns whenever I can; when they are on sale, when I see colors I like and only when I need them.

So I thought I’d list the supplies I use and would like to use in the future here.
1. Organic Yarn and Recycled Cotton Yarn from Lionbrand

I initially fell in love with these because of how soft they are. They are incredibly plush and soft and perfect for my washcloths. Lionbrand just came out with more fabulous colors and I’ll be introducing them in my shop soon.
2. Bamboo Yarn from Bernat
Oh boy, these are like silk. They are ultra silky and soft and I knitted a newborn baby hat for my cousin with them. The colors are gorgeous too.
3. Eco fi – a.k.a ecospun
I made valentine ornaments and needlepoint frame artwork with recycled felt and I was so thrilled to find them at my local craft store. I love working with felt but this brand is made from plastic. They are synthetic but are made from recycled consumer products like plastic bottles. Can’t go wrong with these.
4. Eco Fabric
I recently found Hartsfabric.com that sells a decent collection of eco fabric. Only if I can squeeze in some time to sew…..endless possibilities.
5. Organic Labels.
After making these fabulous products, attaching just any regular labels will be a sin, won’t it? So I am in the process of looking into making organic labels with clothinglabels4u.com Stay tuned….
I do not make any money for endorsing these products but I just wanted to share where I get my eco-friendly supplies from. Hope the list will help with your eco-friendly crafting needs.

I found out that organic labels would be a little bit of a stretch for me right now. Minimum order is 500 labels and I just don't have the need for all of them right now. So, I think I'll wait on organic labels for now and order just 30 labels from an Etsy seller, JennifersJewels for now and see how fast I go through them. :)

Thanks for drawing my attention to Hartsfabric.com, I still have a bunch of salvaged/upcycled fabric but a girl will run out eventually so its nice to know the options!

Thank you for sharing! I love to re-use/upcycle, but sometimes you just really need something in another color or texture to inspire you in a whole new way. :)
