Ten things about myself…as promised.

I know. I slacked off.

I was given two blogger awards by Life as we know it by Paula and LillyShayStyle about a month ago but I haven’t done anything with them yet. Why? That’s because I have to reveal 10 things about myself. (I think one of them was 12 but I rounded it down to ten- devious, I know.) Well, over the weekend, I was tagged by avlor. So now, I have to get on the ball and send blogger awards to ten (or tag) bloggies that I adore. I know I’m cheating because I’m combining the two concepts but ten is ten. Right? I can’t seem to squeeze out ten things I want to reveal in one night so here goes the first five.

1. I don’t like to write. Why do I have a blog? Well, if I didn’t, I wouldn’t write at all. This is a good way for me to get myself to confront my fears of writing. And share my rambling thoughts with readers like you.

2. I love to read blogs. One of my favorite blogs I like to read is Zen Habits. Although I’ve been reading it for awhile now, I just signed up for an e-mail subscription. Now, I can read it on my phone, when I’m traveling, when I need inspiration, and when I need a reminder what’s really important.

3. I wish I had an empty house so that I can decorate it from scratch, sparsely, one piece at a time… with collected treasures from antique stores, flea markets and estate sales. And making pillows, quilts, and curtains by myself. Hanging paintings that I painted. A real true DIY decorating. That would be a dream.

4. I play the piano. I took lessons for six years then, stopped. I self taught Moonlight Sonata and the first two movements of Pathetique by Beethoven when I was twelve.

5. I love to cook. Unfortunately, I don’t follow recipes exactly so my foods never come out exactly the same way each time…except when I bake. I usually cook using recipes that are in my head without any real measurements. It’s usually, “little bit of this and a dash of that.” My kids bought me a recipe manager software for me to enter my recipes but I fail to record any. It takes too much work. I love cooking blogs. Copywriter’s Kitchen is one of my favorites.

To be continued……and I’ll give the blog awards to ten bloggies next time.

Hi Paula,
It's more like being lazy. If I don't have an ingredient, I improvise. My DD once wanted to use corn starch instead of flour since we didn't have enough flour. I yelped! I wouldn't go that far but I'll skip the parsley or rosemary here and there…..unless I'm making Rosemary Chicken or Pasta Fagioli.

No it's not cheating! It's creative use of your time! :)

Oh cool, I'm loving Zen Habits! Thanks for sharing that site I could spend the entire day exploring them. Following on Twitter now.

Do you still play piano? Do you have one? Nice stuff!
