Thank You Series – Thompson Designs

If you own your business, whether it is online or a brick and mortar type with a store front, you know how important your signage is. Your branding is everything. You want people to look at your logo and say, “Oh, that’s Ecokaren” So, when I wanted a new banner, avatar, and a business card design, I wanted a professional to do them instead of me throwing some text lines onto some pictures I have in my files. But choosing a graphic artist was hard because I met some great artists through Etsy. Some of my best contacts on facebook and twitter are graphic artists. But, truthfully, I had a coupon for my next featured seller for her services and was referred to her by someone so I wanted to give her a try. I didn’t know anything about her business (something that I never do – use a service without reliable referral – but I did trust this person who referred me so I wasn’t completely in the dark.) but I liked some of the work she did.

Boy, was I impressed with the quality of her work. She was fast, professional, dedicated, and very patient. She asked me many questions about what I liked and disliked and offered many suggestions. She listened to my comments and wishes and she was able to come up with a design that I had in my mind all along but couldn’t render it on paper (or on screen in this case). She made my banner, avatar, and business card. And she was so affordable! I am happy with my new squeaky image. Don’t you?

1.What is your name and your Store’s name?

My name is Renee Thompson and my Store’s name is Thompson Designs

2.How long have you had this Store?

Since April 26, 2006

3.What is your business about and what inspired you to open a store?

I do a mix of collage art and graphics. When I had my sweet boy in 2004 I deiced to be a stay at home mom. I have a degree in art so I thought maybe I can stay home do what I love and be with my little boy.

I have been very blessed that I do well and help out my husband so I can stay home with my son.

4.Have you had other companies?

5.What does your day look like?

Wake up early get my husband out the door I then check my emails and write down any orders that I may have. Around this time I go wake up my little man and get him rolling for the day.

From that point on I try to balance my online job with my mom job.

6.Do you work in an office outside the home or do you work at home? And if you work at home, how do you manage your office space and personal space?

I work from home so I could raise my little one. Since I live at the beach my house is the typical beach box and space is limited. I really don’t have a office but I try to make my space my own and surround my space with things I love and lots of color.

7.What’s your secret for balancing work and personal life, if there is such a thing?

I’m still trying to figure that one out! I’ll let you know when I find the answer lol!

9.Since ecokaren is all about the environment and our health, what do you do at home and in your office (if outside the home) that’s healthy for the environment as well as your own health?
