I wanted to see what my blog feeds look like in your mail boxes so I signed up for my own blog to see how they looked.
This is how they looked when I checked.
No Content Titles in my Inbox
See how the title is the same and there is no content title for the posts? When they are delivered this way, I can’t tell what the posts are about. Gah~
It turns out, I’m not the only one. Most of the blogs I subscribe to have the same feeds like this without the content title of the posts.
So I investigated to see how I can show the content title for each posts. And it was really easy to do. I had to fuss with it to experiment a little but eventually, I got to make it look like this. My current feed looks like the first two. I was experimenting with different ways, as you can see from the bottom two feeds.
Blog Title and Content Titles
This is what you do to get your content title in each posts.
Go to feedburner, log into your account.
Select “Publicize” and Click “Email Branding” under “Email Subscriptions” on the left side bar. When you do, you’ll see this screen.
Feedburner Publicize Page
Under Email Subject/Title on the top, insert ${latestItemTitle} anywhere you want: before or after your blog title.
Then click SAVE button on the bottom of the page and you are done!
Now your readers can see what you are blogging about that day!
Cool, huh? I thought so.
