Mandy:: so good of you to compliment my furoshiki while you carry some gorgeous ones yourself! I remember my grandmother always using furoshiki type of cloth wrap to carry things and I never gave it a big thought until recently. Those old wise women knew what they were doing!

Amy:: those ninjas are soooo cute. Like you said, being green is using common sense. I know we are all watching what we spend and I think if people realize that being green doesn't have to be costly, then, they will be more green.

Thank you so much Karen for featuring my Ninja Otedama/Beanbags and for your common sense approach!

Making eco-friendly and wise choices is really important. If there's something we truly need - then yes go get a bargain. But if it's not, lets save our money and resources. Just buying things because they are a good deal and letting them go to waste doesn't do us good in the long run.

Thanks for this lovely post and for raising awareness about handmade + eco-friendly. I completely agree and believe everyone can take small steps toward sustainable living like using the time-honored Japanese tradition of furoshiki for wrapping all those handcrafted, earth-friendly gifts. They are reusable! My artisan furoshikis, savvywraps, are 100% biodegradable. Cheers, Mandy
