Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) EXPO’10

This is a quick post on what I’ll be doing next Tuesday, April 20th. I’ll be volunteering at Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) EXPO in Pleasantville, NY.

As you know, I truly believe that education is a key to success in changing people’s behaviors and misconceptions. And educating them while they are young, is crucial for so many different reasons that I won’t go into right now. Having said, the planet’s plight and it’s environmental health has to be taught to the young kids right now for their future’s sake.

CELF’s annual Students for a Sustainable Future EXPO has been introducing middle and high school students to innovative, sustainable developments in green business and industry. At the EXPO, students in grades 5–12 explore corporate exhibits and showcase their own projects inspired by sustainability concepts.

This year, EXPO’10 will focus on green schools. In partnership with the Green Schools Coalition of Westchester, CELF invites students, teachers, administrators, facilities and business personnel and parents to explore and explain all the salient aspects of a schools’ journey to green.

This is an exciting program that I think every city and state should have.

I am so glad I found out about it and I’ll be part of the event.

Will you find out if your town or city has a similar event and will you volunteer?

Will you help these kids get on the right track?

And if you are near Pleasantville, NY, will you volunteer and join me?
