Final Day: 24 Days of Green Christmas Crafts – Wine Gift Bag

We made it! It’s the final day of “24 Days of Green Christmas Crafts” series!

Break out the champagne!!! … or wine, in this case.

Did you have fun?
Did you learn how to make new crafts?
Bet you are all set for Christmas!

What? You want to send me a case of wine to thank me for giving you all these nifty ideas?

Awwww….don’t thank me. Thank my readers. And you, who continued to read and leave comments here … on facebook … and Twitter … and for sharing and spreading the word about green crafting for Christmas.

Who says Christmas is wasteful when you can make your own decorations and gifts out of materials you already have?

I also want to thank my crafting greenies who allowed me steal share their crafting tutorials for the series.

Your talent inspire me. Always. My blog’s door is always open for you to share your awesome ideas with my readers.

Now onto my last craft for Christmas….wine gift bag.

I know. I know. You are thinking, “Big Deal“.

You are saying, “This is how you are ending this series?”

But what you are really saying is … “Wine? Yeah, I’ve given wine as gifts on holidays before. And, yes, I’m ashamed to admit I’ve used those ugly paper plastic wine bags to give them in.

Well, shame no more. Make these wine bags today. It’s not too late. They are so easy and yet, it makes any cheap wine look fancy. You can’t sew? Use brown craft paper and glue the seams. You don’t need sewing skills.

You’ll need:

  • Two (2) festive holiday print fabric panels about 15″x8″ in size (good for an average bottle)
  • Thread
  • Rikrak or any kind of coordinating ribbon
  • Embellishment like fresh holly branches

Directions

  1. With right sides together, sew around the three sides, leaving one shorter side open.
  2. Pinch the bottom corner into a triangle and mark the line that measures about 2 1/2″ across. Repeat on the other corne
  3. Sew along the marked line.
  4. Clip the corner with pinking shears
  5. Turn the bag inside out. Put the wine bottle inside, tie a ribbon or a rikrak around the neck of the bottle, add some fresh holly branch as decoration. And voila! You are done.

Now, you know you have someone missing on your gift list. You have that inkling feeling that you forgot someone. And when you figure it out, on the 11th hour, who that person is, you can always pull out that bottle of wine you bought last month (or the one someone gave you as a present. Shhhhh….) and put it in one of these fancy wine gift bags and you are golden! You are a rock star for giving the perfect gift for Uncle Harry. That’s right! It was Uncle Harry!

You are welcome!

Do you know what I do? I always have a few bottles of wine prepared, just in case. And if you don’t get to give them away, you’ll have extra bottles for yourself at New Years! How perfect!

…………

Well, folks. This ends the “24 Days of Green Christmas Crafts” series. Honestly, I had no idea it was going to be this much work fun. I’m already thinking of crafts I want to post for next year.

Let us be thankful that we had fun together,

that we made “stuff”,

and that we were not wasteful.

Have a Blessed Holiday,

Filled with Laughter and Unforgettable Memories!
