OK, so not exactly Martha the Diva herself called but the Director of Promotion and Events Marketing called me.
But it might as well have been Martha herself because, C’mon, she works with M.A.R.T.H.A!!!
When I got the convo (on Etsy), I thought it was SPAM. I get a ton of those. But I thought, “Just may be, this is for real.” So I answered her right away. And thank Gawd I did because it was for r.e.a.l.!!
She wants me to come down to NYC, in March, to hold a “How to Green Your Business” workshop for their Dreamers into Doers event.
Whaaaat??? Yup. You heard me. *Pinch me again…please*
This awesome event is held annually at the Omnimedia headquarter in NYC where luckiest of lucky 80 winners – out of 10,000 applicants – get to network, attend workshops on how to manage their businesses, watch the taping of the Martha Stewart show, of course, meet Martha and spend awe-spiring (my new favorite word) two days get coached about their businesses.
Did I mention they only choose 80 business owners out of over 10,000 who apply? What is that in percentage, like less than 1%!
And I am going to hold a workshop for these smart and creative business owners….in front of the room, behind a podium!
*GULP!*
Can you believe this? How unbelievable is this opportunity?
Not only am I invited by Martha Stewart’s Omnimedia company but I will be teaching business owners, entrepreneurs, on why and how greening their businesses are important.
I am so honored to be asked but so stoked – yeah I said s.t.o.k.e.d.! – that greening businesses is viewed as being important enough that a workshop was planned to address the issue! Totally awesome!
Yes, I was shaking like a leaf after I hung up the phone. I don’t remember if I said, “HELL, YEAH!” or “Yes, Ms. “so and so”, I’d be honored to …” or just nodded my little head while screaming silently with my tongue hanging out.
Actually, I shook a lot and I think I pee’d a little.
I have to thank my Eco Etsy teammates for being so supportive and enthusiastic for me. And of course, Etsy, for its awesome handmade community. Without my involvement with them, I wouldn’t be telling you this great news today.
So while I’m still de-cluttering – pictures will be posted tomorrow – I stopped to inform you this little great news. Now, let’s get back to de-cluttering.
