Did you watch the Grammys last night?
I normally don’t since I think award shows are just total waste of resources but because of the news of Whitney Houston’s tragic death, I felt compelled to watch this year’s show. And I thought Hudson sang amazingly, in her tribute to Houston, despite the emotions that must have been incredibly difficult to control. I cried just watching her sing. I can’t imagine what must have gone through her mind, as she sang.
But on a positive note, I was glad to see one of my favorite performers, Adele, won 6 Grammy awards. Yay!
And besides the moving tributes and Adele winning, I was pleased to see this video, sung by Willie Nelson to Cold Play’s song “The Scientist”. I thought it was a weird place to use an ad like this but it totally worked since Willie Nelson is a huge supporter of farmers (Remember his FarmAid concert??) This short film depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. And people are getting the message because this video received more than 4 million views. And if you buy Nelson’s cover on iTunes, the proceed is donated to the Cultivate Foundation.
Did you watch the Grammy’s? Did you see this commercial? What did you think?
