Bissell Lift-Off® Deep Cleaner Review

Bissell sent me a Lift-Off® Deep Cleaner last week. Actually, I didn’t want it because I was afraid to find out how dirty my carpet is. Honestly. And while we don’t wear shoes in the house, I knew my carpet would be beyond dirty since we never steam cleaned it since we installed it 17 years ago. I know! Can you believe it?

I was reluctant to rent commercial carpet cleaners because truthfully, I didn’t want to use a machine that cleaned a stranger’s house. I mean, how do I know what the condition of the house that the machine cleaned was? And how safe are the cleaning chemicals that I have to use to clean the carpet with? And to have to lug that heavy machine in and out of the car, bring it upstairs, etc.??? Bleh.

So, why didn’t I use those carpet cleaning guys you see on TV commercials or Pennysavers that says, “For $99 you can clean 3 rooms if you call us NOW!!”

Uh, uh. No thanks. I would have the same issues as rented machines. Plus, they’d probably come in, take one look, and say, “The special was just for regular cleaning but you’re gonna need deep. DEEP  cleaning with this super duper (toxic) cleanser, followed by this uber conditioner (more toxic) that prevents stain, and…..” You get the picture.

Nah~ I’d just as soon spot treat any stains, rather than, dealing with these  shenanigans hassles.

So after 17 years of living with a white carpet in my bedroom - White carpet!! What was I thinking? - my carpet does need some deep cleaning. And my 7 year old dog wasn’t exactly a quick learner when she was a puppy. So, even though I vacuumed every week, the edges of the white carpet got stained. And pet stains stayed, not to mention some evidence of baby’s indigestions and make up stains in my daughter’s room. You’d think I am a slob and never cleaned these stains. But I wear, I did. Ok, not with a steam cleaner but I immediately spot treated them afterwards.

But they look like these now.

Pet stains that turned black

Old Make Up Stains

So I was so thrilled to try Bissell’s Fost-Off@ Deep Cleaner on these old stubborn stains when they contacted me to try it. And look what the water looks like after I cleaned the stains.

I knew it was going to be dirty but ewww...!

And the stained areas??

Pet stains didn't have a chance!

Afte once over. Need to go back and do the whole room.

The machine has TWO components; portable part detaches from the main unit so you can take it onto steps or to small areas to spot clean. I used it to clean the blackened pet stains and used the main unit to clean the wider area where old OLD make up stains were. I don’t think you need my words to see what I think of this awesome machine.
